Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator Course(BCCPA)

Novice Blue Coat Systems Administrator

Course Description

The Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA) Course is intended for students who wish to master the fundamentals of Blue Coat products. This course is a revised version of the course formerly known as Proxy Fundamentals. You should not take the BCCPA course, if you have already taken the Proxy Fundamentals Course. Instead, you should take the BCCPA Upgrade course, which covers new material not included in the Proxy Fundamentals class.

The BCCPA Course focuses on Blue Coat's most recent operating system. Students will learn about the HTTP protocol, ProxySG deployment strategies, and initial setup. Students will also learn about the Management Console, Visual Policy Manager, and will receive instruction in authentication, policy management, and URL filtering. Additionally, the course provides effective strategies for managing downloads, instant messaging, and peer-to-peer applications. Access logging, Reporter, reverse proxy deployments, and ProxyAV are also covered in detail. Upon completing this course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrators.

Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional Course (BCCPP)

Audience

Experienced Blue Coat Administrator. (Must have attended BCCPA or passed entrance exam to attend this course.)

Course Description

The Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional (BCCPP) Course is intended for students who wish to master the advanced features of Blue Coat products. This course is a revised version of the course formerly known as Advanced Proxy Solutions. The BCCPP Course focuses on advanced features in Blue Coat's most recent operating system. You must complete the BCCPA course before enrolling in the BCCPP course.

The BCCPP course covers system architecture, policy tracing, advanced HTTP topics, the SOCKS protocol and compression, Endpoint Mapper, bandwidth management, the SSL protocol, and advanced topics relating to access logging. Additionally, this course provides details about Proxy SG security, authentication, substitution realms, sequence authentication, forwarding, reverse proxy implementation, failover, and Blue Coat Director. Content Policy Language (CPL), regular expressions, advanced policy management, spyware prevention, phishing, and troubleshooting are also covered. Upon completing the course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professionals.
