SynerComm's Aerohive Essentials WLAN Configuration (AEWC) Plus

Learn to Leverage your WiFi Investment
Designed for individuals with little experience with WiFi environments, this three day course will provide you with the information and skills necessary to gain an understanding of WiFi and how it pertains to the Aerohive environment. You’ll learn the basics of WiFi, how it works and how clients connect securely, while also learning best practices in designing and optimizing an Aerohive WLAN, installing and configuring HiveAPs, HiveManager, and GuestManager, and troubleshooting routine problems in your wireless environment.

Prerequisites:
Students must bring a modern, WiFi-ready Windows (preferably Windows 7) or Mac laptop, with the latest drivers capable of connecting to an 802.11 a/b/g/n network. Students should have Microsoft Powerpoint or the Powerpoint Viewer and an operating webbrowser (IE, Firefox, or Safari).

With this course, you'll learn:

• Basics of WiFi
• Basic RF design
• Security for WiFi networks
• Client issues and connectivity
• Overview of Aerohive Cooperative Control Architecture and products
• HiveManager – concepts and administration
• Using the Aerohive Wi-Fi planning tool to prepare for a deployment
• WLAN Policies for deploying global configuration settings among APs
• HiveAP and HiveManager – management and administration
• SSIDs and user-based policies
• Troubleshooting tools: Client Monitor, RADIUS Test, Packet Capture, Remote Sniffer, and VLAN Probe
• Private PSK to provide unique PSKs for enterprise users

Training Location
Classes are held at SynerComm’s office in Brookfield, WI, only twenty minutes from downtown Milwaukee. You can visit the Travel Wisconsin website for information on accomodations as well as the many events, attractions, and recreational activities available in the area.
